Biographical Info

Joel Trieger  was born in the great February  blizzard of 1958  that swallowed Newton, MA.  He developed an early appreciation for the natural world, enhanced by many camping trips across U.S.A., and much exploration of animals in the wild and in zoos.

..."By age 10, my path was diverted to music composition,  my sole creative outlet until 1999, when I stumbled upon the thrill of working with clay. I was hooked. Experiments with a wide array of found materials led me through woodcarving,  instrument building, and the designing of musical toys for theory and practice. Lately my fascination has turned to human faces, portraits, and caricatures of the famous, not-so-famous, and imagined.
Since 2000,  I have exhibited  work at:

the Poet's Corner in New Rochelle,
the Anderson Chase Gallery in Katonah,
 the Yonkers Riverfront Library,
the Pelham Picture House,
the  Barrett Art Center in Poughkeepsie,
Art Life Studios Student Exhibitions,
the Port Chester Art Fest,
The Larchmont Library's Oresman Gallery,
the Student Art Exhibit at White Plains County Center,
the Flat Iron Gallery in Peekskill, the Rye Arts Center, and the New Rochelle Art Association's 96th Annual Open Juried Show at the New Rochelle library.
2010-11 saw the production of a seven part program for LMC-TV featuring about 65 sculptures and  almost 3 hours of original music.  The program, called "Sculpture by Joel" won Best Series Award at the 2011 LMC-TV Awards Ceremony.
In September I joined the New Rochelle Art Association and participated in their 96th annual show.
During 2012 I participated in 7 shows in New Rochelle,
2 student shows in White Plains, and a large solo exhibition at the Greenburgh Library.
